Law of parking

Is there a law of parking that states "no matter where you park in an empty parking lot, another car will quickly come in and park so close to you that you can barely open your door wide enough to get out of your vehicle?"

There should be.

Haha...Comming back from Herne, Germany a few years ago and hopeing to get the midnight ferry from Calais I started nodding dog syndrome late at night after a few hours on the motorways, pulled into a rest stop somwhere on the belgian border at about 11 pm for an arm and leg streach and to imbibe some of Old Holborn's finest when another car pulled off, drove past the dead cafe, past the bins, past the lorry spaces, past the loos and slowed to a halt 15 yards from my car????
